Hello everyone
Welcome to the new members on the board. Many thanks to those board members who
have stood down, for your hard work. Let’s keep moving forward with the positive changes
made. Also, welcome to Di as our new club manager and many thanks to Simone for the
work she did in this role and all the help in making the hand over a smooth process.
Members, please support Di in this role.
Also, thanks to all those that came last Monday to put topsoil on the A green, it is looking
good!
During the week, Tuesday afternoons are busy with Mahjong being very popular as well as
indoor bowls, pool and card games going well. Everyone is welcome to join in this 12:45pm
gathering to play a game or games and socialise. Thursday evenings are also popular with a
good crowd of regulars, visitors and others now enjoying the start of our new club night.
Watch this space for new happenings.
The bar handover from Vern to Alex has gone well and I look forward to working with Alex to
get some new things happening in the club as we move into the new season.
I would like to thank and congratulate Sandra and Marlene for becoming coaches. They will
be a great asset to our club alongside Wendy and Liz in this role.
The solar panels have been installed on our clubhouse. Long-term these will save the club a
lot of money, so well done Bill in getting a grant from Pub Charities Ltd for this expense.
Congratulations to Bevan Choate, Stu Croft and Allen Hodges in becoming life members of
our club. You all deserve this honour. Also, to Allen for receiving his gold star for winning
centre titles in the Otago region some years ago. David Jones needs a special mention for
his superb role in sorting this out for Allen.
Dave has reported in the minutes on the new B green. Thanks, Dave, for all the work you’ve
done behind the scenes, I know it has been very trying at times!
See you at the club!
