The GREAT LAKE CLASSIC FOURS held at Bowls Taupo on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th October.
The VAL DUNCAN sponsored tournament was affected by heavy rain on the Sunday which resulted in the ‘Green’ becoming unplayable, the Sunday play being cancelled & the event unfortunately having to be reduced to a one day Tournament. An entry of teams representing the Taupo & surrounding BOP areas, plus numerous areas of the North Island enjoyed a very competitive Saturday of bowls. The competition comprised two games of ‘Fours’ and two games of ‘Pairs’ during Saturday play & unfortunately the Sunday format which included ‘Singles’ and ‘Triples’ could not be played.
Due to the cancellation of the Sunday programme, the Tournament results were decided from the most successful teams after Saturday’s play. The Tournament sponsor VAL DUNCAN a Life Member of Bowls Taupo presented the prizes to the winning teams.
